Character Name: Hao Asakura
Character Series: Shaman King
Age: Physically 15, Spiritually 1000+
Background: Hao is the main antagonist of Shaman King, and twin brother of Yoh Asakura, who in actuallity is part of Hao. Hao lived 1000 years ago and 500 years ago through the power of reincarnation, bringing him back for the two previous shaman fights. His goal was to become king and make a world consisting of nothing but strong Shamans, the strong being picked by him personally. The reason for this is because he had a power called Reishi that allowed him to see the hearts of people, which at first he tried to help but eventually he saw the darker side of the human heart and at the time he chose this goal it was a point in history known as the Haien Era(which was pretty much nothing but famine, war, and disease). In the past he mastered the skills of Onmyoudou, which included Clairvoyance, and the power to control aspects of his reincarnations. 1000 years ago when he proposed his all Shaman world he was shot down and he was killed, the Asakura sign then changed from a star-like the ones Hao wears- to a shattered star and a triangle, resembling a tree. He mastered all five elements thus preventing him from ever permanently dieing. 500 years prior to Shaman King his reincarnation became a Patch, during said point- gaining Spirit of Fire as his guardian spirit. He was beaten by Yohken Asakura. When he was reincarnated his body was seperated into himself and Yoh-Yoh being the kindness and...apparently ability to control sleep... that Hao buried deep inside of himself after the death of his mother 1000 years ago. It's also discovered that Hao is immune to whatever injuries he'd been inflicted with in past lifes, making him nigh indestructible. Hao had done some depraved things in the present such as murder Lyserg's family and set his house up in flames. In the present time Hao collected a team of strong Shamans to make sure he was assured his spot as Shaman King, however Yoh and his friend defeated them time after time, only growing stronger as they went to fight him. Despite all that Hao still absorbed Yoh's Soul in the end, making him whole once more but somehow Yoh had managed to escape.
In the Anime Hao never actually won the Shaman fight but instead the spirit of Fire sonsumed the soul of the Spirit King and gained a near infinate power that could rip the world asunder, despite the tries of his brother and friends they constantly failed until Yoh channeled the energy from every person in the world and used a giant oversoul of his spirit guardian to cut Hao and the spirit of fire in half and exploding into oblivion.
Personality: Hao is complex person, seeming to be pure and innocent by first glance as his smile never seems to faulter, however he in truth is sadistic in revelation. He played mind games throughout the Shaman Fights getting t the top by reading his opponents hearts and never once being touched. Hao does have an odd quirk of brotherly love at times showing it towards Yoh to make him stronger and for Opacho the kid he adopted. Probably his oddest quirk is his love of Yoh's fiancé Anna who he loved only because she also had the reishi and was the reincarnation of his original incarnation's mother. Also Hao doesn't particularly like to fight as much as he does watching them. Especially those with Yoh in them.
